Physician, journalist and politician; in his youth he was accused of revolutionary activity and fled to Romania. A graduate of the Faculty of Medicine of the University in Bucharest, he returned to Independent Bessarabia and was elected in the Country Council. He was also Minister of Finance and President of the Council of General Directors of Bessarabia (Prime-Minister). After the Union he held several positions including general secretary of the Ministry of Health and deputy in the Parliament of Romania.
