Transylvanian Romanian, historian medievist, secretary of the Commission for Historical Monuments, militant for national unity, being a member of the National Committee, sent to Paris in the autumn of 1919 as an advisor for historical and ethnographic issues in addition to the Romanian delegation at the Peace Conference, 1922 in Geneva. Founder in 1920 together with Ioan Lupas of the National History Institute in Cluj, Minister of Religious Affairs, State Minister for Transylvania, President of the Romanian Academy, arrested and imprisoned dies on 30 August 1950 in Sighet prison.
