Bucovinean Romanian, political human, cultural and political personality of Bucovina, fighter for the rights of the Romanians during the Austrian mastery. He founded a democratic national party in 1898, then became president of the Romanian National Party in Bucovina, deputy in the Bucovina Diet, president of the Bucovina National Council; was elected member of the Romanian National Council at the National Assembly on October 27, 1918, on the committee of 50 members, and then was delegated to the Romanian National Council to attend the meeting of 28 November 1918 of the General Assembly of Bucovina who has voted the Union of Bucovina with Romania. Iancu Flondor led the delegation that handed over the act of Union of Bucovina with Romania to King Ferdinand I. He continued his activity in the Great Romania, being the minister of Bucovina in the guvernment of Ion I.C. Bratianu (Dec 1918 – April 1919).
